Olyjoint: Joint Supplement

Olyjoint: Joint Supplement
When I read the manufacturer's claim that my joint discomfort would be gone in one week (I have a bad knee), I was skeptical. Nevertheless, I began taking this product faithfully, and while pouring through countless articles about how a red grape compound can actually help soothe stiff joints (this was a big plus for me as I'm a huge red wine fan) I was truly amazed at how much better my aching knee felt. So what is this incredible red grape compound and how does it help my joints? Let's take a look at the Olyjoint product and find out.

What Is It?
Olyjoint is a joint support supplement. Its main component is a powerful antioxidant called oligomeric proanthocyanidins (or OPC for short), which is found naturally in grape seed, grape skin, bilberry, black currant, chokeberry, and green and black tea just to name a few. OPC’s antioxidant capabilities have been shown to be 20 more times powerful than Vitamin C and up to 50 times more potent than Vitamin E. Wow – that’s packing some power!

What Does It Do?
Research has shown that OPC may have the following benefits for joint health:
  • Helps build and strengthen joint cartilage
  • Eases joint discomfort
  • Helps improve flexibility and range of motion
  • Promotes quicker recovery of sore joints and muscles

The other ingredients in Olyjoint’s formula may also help to improve memory, sharpen vision and boost immunity.

Ingredients
Main Ingredients: OPC Grape Seed and Skin, Pine Bark Extract; Green Tea Extract (decaffeinated); Red Raspberry Extract; Bilberry Extract; Gingko Biloba Leaf Extract; Tart Cherry.
Other Ingredients: Magnesium Stearate; Stearic Acid; Microcrystalline Cellulose.

What We Like
The Olyjoint capsules are relatively small, and therefore easy to swallow. Both an expiration date and lot number are clearly shown on the bottle.

What We Don’t Like
The bottle/packaging for this product is very generic-looking, and might easily get confused with other pill bottles if you take multiple supplements. Also, the packaging does not say not to use if the seal is broken. The pills themselves have somewhat of an unpleasant odor.

As always, check with your doctor before starting any new supplements because there are several options out there. For example, also Flexacine, Joint Revive, CapraFlex, and Joint-Rx, just to name a few. Overall we think Olyjoint is a good supplement, and we give it a 3 rating.
