Have you had the flu yet this winter? Or even just a really nasty cold? Even though it seems flu and cold season hits worst in the winter months, the truth is you can get sick any time of year. In fact, I’m convinced there’s nothing worse than a summer cold. At least when you’re sick in the winter you can feel justified snuggling under a mountain of blankets with a cup of hot tea – and you don’t have to turn on the air conditioner to do it!

Did you get a flu shot this year? And if so, did it truly protect you against the flu? I didn’t get the flu shot this year, and so far I haven’t come down with the flu. And now, it looks like I actually may have saved myself some money by not getting the shot. Why is that? Well, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) state that this year’s seasonal flu vaccine has only been effective 44 percent. Only 44 percent? Can that be right?
